Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz became the first set of teammates to homer in each of the first three games in a season, and Matt Harrison pitched Texas past Boston in Arlington, Texas, for a sweep of its season-opening series.

White Sox 7, Indians 1: Orlando Cabrera hit a two-run homer to help host Cleveland beat Chicago.

Twins 4, Blue Jays 3: Danny Valencia and Denard Span homered, and visiting Minnesota held on to avoid a three-game sweep by Toronto.

Orioles 5, Rays 1: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Zach Britton pitched six sharp innings and J.J. Hardy hit a two-run double, leading Baltimore over Tampa Bay.

Tigers 10, Yankees 7: Miguel Cabrera hit a pair of two-run homers and visiting Detroit held off New York.

Royals 12, Angels 9, 13 inn.: Matt Treanor hit a three-run homer with two outs in the 13th inning, sending host Kansas City past Los Angeles for its third straight victory in its last at-bat.

• NATIONAL LEAGUE

Phillies 7, Astros 3: Ryan Howard homered and drove in four runs to help host Philadelphia over Houston.

Cardinals 2, Padres 0: Jaime Garcia threw a four-hitter with a career-best nine strikeouts to help host St. Louis beat San Diego.

Dodgers 7, Giants 5: Marcus Thames tripled in the go-ahead run and host Los Angeles beat San Francisco.

Reds 12, Brewers 3: Ryan Hanigan hit two of Cincinnati's four homers and the host Reds beat Milwaukee.

Mets 9, Marlins 2: At Miami, Willie Harris and Ike Davis homered and New York beat Florida.

Braves 11, Nationals 2: Brian McCann had four RBIs and visiting Atlanta beat Washington.

Pirates 5, Cubs 4: Pedro Alvarez drove in two runs in the ninth inning and visiting Pittsburgh rallied past Chicago to take two of three in the series.

Arizona at Colorado, ppd., snow: At Denver, the game between the Rockies and Diamondbacks was postponed by snow. No makeup date has been announced.
