Art Walk season kicks off today

The Coeur d'Alene Art Association is participating as a member of the Cultural Alliance in the first monthly Art Walk of the 2011 season.
The Coeur d'Alene Art Association welcomes the community to make the Plaza Shops their first stop of the April Artwalk and to view artwork by 41 local participants exhibiting in the 2011 Artists Showcase.
The free show will start at noon today with a reception at 5 p.m. Entertainment will include the chance to watch and learn painting techniques in demos by guest artists Terry Lee and Bob Krogel, and members Patsey Parsons and Joe Kronenberg.
Tickets are $5 for a chance to win $200 gift certificate for winners choice of art.
There will be music and refreshments.
The show continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with demonstrations throughout the day and a second raffle drawing for a framed abstract acrylic by Joanne Reeds called "A Journey to the Wind."
