PASTRY: Staff made visit to shop enjoyable

First of all, we at Lakeside High School would like to extend a warm thank to Pastry and More in Coeur d'Alene for welcoming some of our staff and students to come and invade their kitchen.

I was one of the students who came on the trip to their bakery and I have to say it was quite an experience. It was nice to be able to experience an actual bakery kitchen that produces real food every day. While we were in the kitchen we got to take a look at some firsthand preparation of some delicious looking orange rolls.

All of the staff at Pastry and More were very kind and they explained things about the kitchen in great detail and it also was nice to see them so ready to answer questions about the kitchen and store. We got a great look at the back kitchen and the front where the sales are made.

Everybody got a free sample and the feedback from everybody was amazing. There were so many good things to be said about Pastry and More and our overall experience at the bakery. Again I would like to thank all of the staff at Pastry and More who made our visit to their shop very enjoyable. I look forward to returning to Pastry and More and enjoying some decadent treats.

VET: Helped dog have better dental health

I want to say a very special thank you to Dr. Lori and the staff at Animal Medical Center downtown on Sherman Avenue.

We were blessed with a sweet little male Pomeranian dog last summer. He is an older dog that was abandoned in our neighborhood, and he adopted us. His dental health had been sadly neglected and his breath was unbearable.

Dr. Lori and her team pulled 17 of his nasty rotten teeth, 10 more had already fallen out. She did this at a discount with Doggie dental month without which we couldn't have paid for it.

Now our little guy's smile is a lot less toothy; but he feels better, he is eating better, and his breath is doggie-kissable!

Thanks again to Dr. Lori and the team; and don't neglect your pet's dental health - it's more important than we realize.
