YAKIMA - For the second time in just over a week the Ephrata Tigers took an early lead only to see it go to waste.

This time, however, it meant even more as they would ultimately drop their Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) opener on Saturday, losing 7-2 at East Valley.

Dario Pichardo scored in the match's 19th minute to give Ephrata (1-6-1, 0-1) an early 1-0 lead.

East Valley scored twice in the last five minutes of the first half to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.

The hosts then scored five straight goals after halftme before Ephrata's Sergio Castro pounded a mishandled ball by the host's goalkeeper into the back of the net to create the final margin.
