A human life is a story told by God. Glenn Edward Cofield, 78, went to be with Jesus his Savior, while surrounded by his loving family at home in Hayden on April 12, 2011. Born to Harold and Ethel Cofield on Dec. 22, 1932, in Wainwright, Alberta, Glenn attended Technical school in Calgary and received a certificate in Auto Body repair.

Glenn met the love of his life, Donna, while in Claresholm, AB. The two married on Nov. 1, 1958, in Oyen, AB, and moved to the Coeur d'Alene area shortly after. Glenn had a successful partnership with his brother, Gordon, for 50-plus years.

Throughout his life, Glenn was a wonderful husband, friend and provider to his wife and family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Alaska, Canada and Idaho, watching the Mariners, traveling to visit family and friends, golfing, curling and hockey. He was a member of the Eagles for 50 years, as well as a Member of Mountain Lakes Bible, Cofield Brothers-Bowling, Golf and Curling teams. Saved and baptized, he was ready for his journey to be with the Lord.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Clarence, Beatrice, Doris and Marge. He is survived by his wife, Donna; brothers: Gerald (Wanda), Gordon and Howard; children: Penny (Scott) Hattenburg, Cheryl (Dave) Simonson, Diane (Mike) Ferguson; grandchildren: Bryce and Brenna Hattenburg, Eric, Kendall and Jerad Simonson, Katrina (Mark) Green, KerriAnn and Zachary Ferguson; great-grandchildren: Parker, Addison and Reagan Green; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Glenn touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, and a Celebration of Life at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at Mountain Lakes Bible, 2215 N. Seventh, Coeur d'Alene, reception to follow.

Special thanks to Liberty Dialysis, Wellspring Meadows, Senior Volunteer Len Gordon, Mountain Lakes Bible and Rivercity Hospice. Donations may be made to Rivercity Hospice, 3726 E. Mullan Ave., Post Falls, ID or Mountain Lakes Bible.

Live, Love, Rejoice!
