JOBS: Press aims at wrong targets

Sad that The Press has bought into the concept that it is the worker, the union employee and specifically the public employee who is the cause of the country's economic problems. In last week's editorial, the public employees are identified as "Takers," reminiscent of the "public trough" category that they were assigned in the past. Could The Press have been duped once again into believing that the country's problems aren't with the greed of banks, Wall Street and the private sector?

Let's see. Who is really destroying the private sector? It isn't the teachers, firefighters, policemen, social workers and soldiers who have been sending all those private sector jobs overseas. The Press may be commended by extremists on the right for continuing the delusion that it is the ordinary worker who is the cause of our problems. In fact, The Press is doing a great job of getting the working class fighting against each other rather than focusing on the real problem. Face it! The private sector's only concern is profit. Check out BP's performance. How about the top 1 percent of Americans making more than 75 percent of the rest of us?

Thanks Press for helping to turn the facts upside down. Let's keep the poor and middle class fighting each other. That's better than considering "raising taxes" on that one percent. Good thinking, editorial staff! What's trickling down on the rest of us right now doesn't feel very good.
