The third game of the season ended in a victory for the Badgers Girls Softball team on Thursday in Troy.
With Jordan Porter, Makenzie Carle and Chelsea Taggart working the mound and Amanda Riley behind the plate, the ladies pulled out a close game with a score of 6 to 5.
Chelsea Taggart lead the offensive charge going two for four with a first inning home-run. Jordan Porter also went two for four and Sam Robertson added an RBI earning double in the final at bat to bring Fallon Orr home and take the lead.
Defensively, Chelsea Taggart recorded seven strikeouts in just four innings. During the bottom of the seventh inning, with two outs and a one run lead, Caitlin Alexander captured a hard hit fly ball to left field to complete the game.
“I have never seen a group of girls work together like we do,” said Badgers senior Becca Farrens. “I'm very proud of how far we have come in the short amount of time we have spent together.”
The girls softball team plays at 3 p.m. today, at home in a double header against Libby.
