MATTAWA - In  high school soccer  action from the week ending April 2, reported late to the Royal Register, Wahluke posted wins over Kiona-Benton and Royal High.

The win over Ki-Be came rather easily, 5-0. The defeat of Royal took some doing, 2-1.

Ki-Be stayed with Wahluke for a  half, 1-0 but the Warriors scored four goals in the second half. Jorge Lopez scored the only goal the Warriors needed in the second minute. Alfredo Manzo and Eugenio Cruz scored two goals each in the second half.

The Royal game was scoreless most of the way. Wahluke scored in the 67th  minute on a Royal defensive mis-play when Jorge Valdez sent the ball into the six-yard box and the ball bounced into the net. Royal tied four minutes later.

The teams went scoreless in the first overtime. In the  second extra period, Heriberto Mendoza headed the ball into the goal off a pass to the box by Valdez.
