Vida Aline (Murrell) Everett was born to Web and Aline Murrell in Muskogee, Okla., on May 10, 1940. Surrounded by her loving family, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt slipped the bonds of this Earth to go home and be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease on March 20, 2011, in Hayden.

Vida graduated from Fillmore High School in California, and then married James Everett on her 18th birthday. Together they had four children before moving to Hayden in 1967 to be closer to her parents and brothers.

She was a wonderful mother and stayed home to raise her children until she went to work for the Coeur d'Alene School District's Transportation Dept., The Bus Garage, for 11 years. After that, Vida started her career in the Insurance business with Doris Callahan and then Aflac. Before she became ill, she was a constant caregiver to her mother, Aline Murrell.

Vida enjoyed life by way of softball, snow skiing, bowling and sewing. She was kind and loving and loved spending time with her family. She was also a very good shopper. She gave away most of the bargains she found, always thinking of others first. If someone needed something and she knew about it, she went to work finding it. She loved to help people this way. One of the grandest shopping trips and fondest memories was with her son, James when they joined friend Michelle in New York City.

She is survived by her mother, Aline; three children, James Everett of Los Angeles, Calif., Jeff Everett of North Carolina and Renee (Bill) Heninger of Rathdrum. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: McKenna Everett, John Robert Baldwin and Regina Shelly, as well as two great-grandchildren, Donovan Baldwin and Darian Shelly, and brothers Charles Murrell (Wanda) of Rathdrum, Floyd Murrell (Wanda) of Sun City, Ariz., and Don Murrell (Kathy) of Coeur d'Alene, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Vida was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett; daughter Shelly Everett; father Web Murrell; sister Margaret Murrell and two brothers, Larry and Tony Murrell.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Autumn Haven Assisted Living and Applegate hospice for their loving and compassionate care of our beloved Vida.

A memorial service with a reception following will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at The Altar church, 901 Best Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
