MANSON - Regardless of who they play, a solid team should always bring their 'A' game against all competition.

The Warden Lady Cougars' softball team can easily be considered one of the better Class 2B teams around and their early start shows that.

On Wednesday, they gave their hosts more evidence of their potential superiority.

Warden, behind homeruns by Narcy Guerra, Elizabeth Pruneda, and Tawnie Gonsalez, cruised to a 19-0 rout win over hosts Manson.

The Lady Cougars are now 7-2 overall and 4-0 in Central Washington South 2B league play.

"We still have a lot to work on and are still settling in at a couple of positions," Warden head coach Wes Richins said. "The girls are working hard and have some good, ambitious, goals."

Iris Rodriguez went 3-for-3 to spark and offense that finished with 10 hits and benefitted from eight Manson walks and five errors committed by the host team.

The teams played in a rain storm, according to Richins.

Cassondra Platas earned the win on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings of work.

"The girls are having a lot of fun and that makes the game that much better," Richins said.
