VERNA KING WADSWORTH MEREDITH left the bounds of her earthly home on the arm of her Lord to her Heavenly Reward to meet with her loved ones who preceded her, the morning of April 19, 2011.

Verna was born June 7, 1919, in Golden Valley, N.D., the third child of Ida King and Charles "Bert" Wadsworth. Her family moved to Garfield, Wash., in 1927 and then to the Moctelme Valley, south of Plummer in 1930. She graduated from Plummer High School in 1938, one of a class of 13 and she was proud to say she had a grade average of 90.

Verna married Ardell W. "Murph" Meredith on Sept. 22, 1939. These lifelong sweethearts loved, lived and worked hard together for 60 years until Murph died Jan. 1, 2000. During their marriage they raised four children: Lynn Brewer, Coeur d'Alene, Steve (Laurie) Meredith, Dalton Gardens, Carol (Lonny) Bowmer, Plummer, Rose Ann (Jim) Grim, Liberty Lake; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Colleen Carmichael, Bismarck, N.D.; numerous nephews and nieces, all of whom will miss her love, infectious smile, kindness and quiet ways.

Verna was a homemaker all of her life; she loved her family, to read, family get-togethers, to go for walks, to listen to the birds sing.
