Ephrata boys tennis team lose first dual of season

YAKIMA - The Ephrata boys tennis team lost its first dual of the season as the Tigers fell yesterday to hosts East Valley, 4-1, in Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) action.

Hunter Sears earned the sole victory for Ephrata (9-1, 2-1) with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles.

"Hunter played consistent tennis," Ephrata head coach Deanna Brown said. 

The Lady Tigers also lost to East Valley, falling 3-2.

Ephrata (4-6, 1-2) got wins at No. 2 doubles as Giang Bui and Kim Beck hung tough in a 7-6 (6) 6-3 victory and the No. 3 pairing of Tiana Schmitz and Tessa Ratigan secured the other team point with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 conquest of their hosts.
