Track and Field Roundup: Ronan-Mission look strong in Frenchtown

think Ronan would have been at the top with several first place

finishes as the Frenchtown Quad on Tuesday, April 12.

FRENCHTOWN - While it was an unscored meet, one would have to think Ronan would have been at the top with several first place finishes as the Frenchtown Quad on Tuesday, April 12.

For the boys, Jordan Franklin placed first in the 100-meter dash (11.5) and the high jump (6-4). His teammate Eric Malmquist took second in the 100 (11.6) and second in the 200 (24.1). Junior Marcus Hungerford took first in the 800 (2:07.5) while Mission High School distance running phenom Paden Alexander took second in the 3,200 (11:04).

As a whole, the Ronan-Mission boys took home six first place finishes as a team, including the 1,600-meter relay (3:41.9). Jalen Bell also took home first at the Triple jump (41-1). The girls were equally impressive at the quad with Adessa Durglo placing second in the 100 (13.7), 200 (28.1) and high jump (4-10).

Courtney Clairmont took first in the 800 (2:41.9) and the 1,600 (6:00.7) for the Maidens. Stephanie Lewandowski placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (54.6) and 100 meter hurdles time.

Jenny Corrsoon was first in the javelin (98-10) and Mora Sokup was second in the 400 (69.3) while her teammate Victoria Krenshaw was third (78.6).

Ronan 400-meter relay teams took second (54.8) and fourth (58.0). In the 1,600-meter relay, Ronan took third (4:42.5) and fourth (5:02.1).

At the Missoula County Public Schools Invitational, the Ronan-Mission track teams faced stiffer competition but still had some stars.

Franklin placed seventh in the 200 (23.23.9) and fourth in the high jump (6-0) while the 1,600-meter relay team placed second (3:36.76).

Bell placed third in the triple jump (41-8) and Marcus Hungerford was seventh in the 800 (2:05.78). The girls saw Adessa Durglo place second in the triple jump (34-10) and third in the high jump (5-2).
