TWIN FALLS - Latieshia Webster hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning of the first game, and 14th-ranked Southern Idaho went on to sweep North Idaho College 8-5 and 9-1 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader Friday at Golden Eagle Field.

KaSara Wise hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning for NIC (28-23, 21-19 SWAC). Desirae Tinoco singled in two runs in the fifth inning for the Cardinals.

"CSI is a very consistent team," NIC assistant coach Angie Boardman said. "So if we don't come out ready to play at our level, it is very hard to get a 'W'."

Sophomore Alyssa Erickson's solo home run in the third inning was the lone hit of the second game for NIC. Former Lakeland High standout Alyana Watson went 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored in the second game for CSI (36-14, 30-7).

The teams conclude their weekend series today with another doubleheader.
