Orozco selected as new superintendent

The Whitefish School District Board of Trustees announced today they have selected Dr. Kathryn Orozco as the next superintendent of schools for the Whitefish School District. The decision was made at the the April 26 school board meeting.
Orozco will begin her work as the superintendent in Whitefish on July 1. She is currently an associate superintendent with the North Platte Public Schools in North Platte, Neb. Orozco and her husband will be transitioning to Whitefish in mid-June.
She received her bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from Gonzaga University of Spokane, Wash., and her administrative degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her professional background includes teaching and instructional coaching in the Spokane School District, organizational consultant for school districts and associate superintendent of curriculum, instruction and assessment in North Platte, Neb.
McPherson & Jacobson served as consultants in the search process and will continue working with the Whitefish School District Board of Trustees and the new superintendent during the 2011- 2012 school year.
