Moses Lake tennis sweeps Riverhawks

PASCO - A strong run of play by both the boys and girls tennis

teams of Moses Lake High School secured two wins at Chiawana

yesterday.

The boys cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Riverhawks while the

girls got back on the winning track with a 5-2 triumph.

PASCO - A strong run of play by both the boys and girls tennis teams of Moses Lake High School secured two wins at Chiawana yesterday.

The boys cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Riverhawks while the girls got back on the winning track with a 5-2 triumph.

In the boys dual, Moses Lake won all four singles matches as Levi Huddleston led the way with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1, Josh Black took a 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 2, a 6-1, 6-2 triumph was secured by Tyler Knapp at No. 3, and Conner Koreis breezed in a 6-3, 6-0 rout.

Doubles play saw the No. 2 team (Bryce Perez/Dallas Pryor) win 6-2, 6-3 and the No. 3 pairing (Tiernan Hall/Harris Turner) cruised 6-0, 6-4.

"Our singles players took control of the match," Chiefs head coach Jon Wrigley said. "It really is an area of strength for us since spring break."

On the girls' side, Moses Lake's Alyssa Tucker (No. 3 singles) and Ece Yilmaz (No. 4 singles) secured 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-4 wins respectively.

Moses Lake swept all doubles matches starting with a 6-2, 6-1 win by Amanda Hart/Annalise Odegaard at No. 1, a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 2 by Becca Byam/Micayla Strickland, and a resounding 6-0, 6-0 pounding at No. 3 dealt by Makena Jansen/Marki Koreis.
