Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years AGO
Thomas Henry Daniels was born Sept. 26, 1933, in St. Charles to Theo M. (Bus) and June Monson Daniels. He passed away in Coeur d'Alene on April 23, 2011, at the age of 77.
Tom graduated from Fielding High School and then was employed for a short time by the railroad. Tom served in the Navy from 1955-1957. He graduated from Utah State University, Logan UT in 1962 with an Electrical Engineering degree.
Tom married Tamara Dimick, from Montpelier, in 1963 and went to work at the Idaho Nuclear site in Arco as an engineer. They lived in Arco for many years, raising their daughters, Desi and Denise. In addition to his work at the site, he operated as a local electrician and flight instructor. In 1974, the family moved to Coeur d'Alene where Tom took an engineering job with EPI designing and installing high efficiency waste burners for saw mills and other industrial users.
Tamara passed away in 1976. After a short period of single parenting, Tom met and married Leslie Tilton who was also a single parent to Lisa, Robyn and James. The combining of those two families was a happy event and continued until his death. To this union a daughter, Sarah was born. Tom and Leslie eventually both retired, and they built a home on the lake shore near Harrison. This became the gathering place for family and friends and a favorite for all.
Tom was a loving, generous and loyal husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered with love for his intelligence and wicked sense of humor.
Tom is survived by his wife, Leslie; his children, Desi and Mitch Taylor, Lisa Carroll, Denise and Jim Wilbur, Robyn Tilton, James Tammy Tilton, Sarah Daniels; two brothers, Ted Daniels of Edmonds, Wash., Terry Daniels of Las Vegas, Nev.; and 11 grandchildren.
Private family arrangements were made and, at Tom's request, no formal services will be held. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
