Olin Browne showed little emotion until rolling in a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole to clinch a three-shot victory over Mark O'Meara in the U.S. Senior Open in Toledo, Ohio, on Sunday.
After Browne's last putt dropped and a large gallery around the final green at Inverness Club roared its approval, he raised his arms in triumph.
• PGA Tour rookie Scott Stallings won the Greenbrier Classic, sinking a birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Bob Estes and Bill Haas in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
After watching Estes and Haas miss their birdie attempts on the 168-yard 18th hole, Stallings curled in a 7-footer for his first tour victory. He flipped his putter, then hugged and high-fived his caddie.
Stallings made six birdies on the back nine to make the playoff.
• Yani Tseng won the Women's British Open for the second straight year, beating Brittany Lang by four strokes in Carnoustie, Scotland, becoming the youngest woman to capture a fifth major title.
The 22-year-old top-ranked Taiwanese shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 16-under 272. She trailed third-round leader Caroline Masson of Germany by two strokes entering the final round. Masson closed with a 78 to finish tied for fifth.

Bob Baffert won the $1 million Haskell Invitational a record fifth time when Coil unleashed a last-to-first rally and beat Preakness winner Shackleford by a neck at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J.
Swimming
The swimming world championships ended with a jolt in Shanghai when emerging Chinese star Sun Yang broke the oldest world record in the sport - Australian great Grant Hackett's 10-year-old mark in the 1,500 meters.
Michael Phelps finished with four golds after pushing the Americans in front during the butterfly leg in the 4x100 medley relay.
Tennis
Ernests Gulbis of Latvia won the Farmers Classic, rallying past top-seeded Mardy Fish 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in Los Angeles for his second career ATP tour title.
Hydroplane racing
Dave Villwock broke Steve David's three-year grip on the Columbia Cup in a thrilling final on the Columbia River in Pasco, Washington.
