MOSES LAKE - Grant County is about to get a television station of its own.

CBHtv is a new offering from the Columbia Basin Herald and iFiber Communications, and it starts with broadcasting all of the baseball games from the Babe Ruth World Series in Ephrata.

The games are available on iFiber's Channel 1, the Columbia Basin Herald website - www.columbiabasinherald.com - or through a mobile phone or tablet computer, according to Kody Johnson, the Columbia Basin Herald Internet business development manager.

"All 25 games are going to be shown," Johnson said.

After the initial games are shown, they will be rebroadcast on Channel 1, according to iFiber's Kelly Ryan. They start a second airing after the last game of the day is done, which could be about midnight.

The games are free on Channel 1, but there is a cost to watch them on the web or on a mobile device, Johnson said.

"The Internet broadcasting is a pay-per-view for $25, which is $1 a game," he said. "We are just covering our bandwidth cost. We are trying to make it affordable for families from across the country to watch their players."

The fee allows a viewer to use either the Internet or their mobile device, or both.

"This is the first time we are broadcasting to mobile devices," Johnson said. "Every game we do this year for high school sports, will be available on mobile devices starting with the Babe Ruth World Series."

Channel 1 will be expanded this fall with local programming amongst classic television shows and movies, Ryan said.

The Columbia Basin Herald will be taking part in the building of the only local television station to Grant County, Johnson added.

CBHtv offers more than broadcasts of the baseball games.

"We will be making DVDs available and other Babe Ruth merchandise are gong to be available on the website," said Johnson. "This is a huge undertaking ... it's a giant step from what we did last year."

To view the broadcasts on iFiber, turn to Channel 1 starting Saturday at 11 a.m. to watch San Gabriel play Onodaga.

The RiverDogs first game is Saturday at 8 p.m. versus Ottumwa.
