KPO purchases Spokane Valley business

Kootenai Prosthetics and Orthotics, of Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint, has purchased Valley Orthopedic in Spokane Valley.

KPO will relocate the Spokane Valley clinic to 1424 McDonald Road, in the Valley, from 11412 E. Sprague Ave., where patients are currently being seen. The move will be completed in mid-September.

KPO is owned by Robert A. Miller and has been in business since 1980 in Coeur d'Alene and employs a staff of 13.

The practice expanded to Sandpoint in the fall of 2010 and added mastectomy services in the winter of 2010.

The Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint clinics will be maintained.

KPO manufactures and fits custom prosthetics for amputees to help them with everyday mobility needs and specialized devices for running, cycling, skiing, swimming and other demanding activities.

The company also creates and fits custom orthotic devices and provides mastectomy services.

KPO is having a Post Falls clinic/office built at 1160 E. Polston Ave., with an expected fall 2011 opening.

Timberline announces financial results

Timberline Resources Corp., of Coeur d'Alene, announced Monday financial results for the third fiscal quarter that ended June 30.

It had net income of $1.42 million from its contract drilling subsidiary, Timberline Drilling Inc., which was up from $637,000 from the year-earlier quarter.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, Timberline Drilling has had net income of $2.6 million, up from $1.42 million from the year-earlier period.

Timberline Resources had revenues of $8.62 million for the third quarter, which was up from $5.79 million compared with the year-earlier quarter.

The company recorded consolidated net income of $528,000 during the quarter, up from a loss of $815,000 a year earlier.

Paul Dircksen, Timberline's chairman and CEO, said, "Timberline Drilling is operating profitably, providing cash to offset our exploration expenditures."

Timberline Resources is exploring and developing advanced-stage gold properties in the western U.S. The company is primarily focused on goldfields in Nevada, where it is advancing its flagship Lookout Mountain Project toward a production decision. It's also exploring a pipeline of earlier-stage projects at its South Eureka property, along Nevada's Battle Mountain, and elsewhere.

Timberline Drilling is a wholly-owned subsidiary that provides diamond drilling services and cash flow from underground and surface contract drilling operations.
