Mattawa counter clerk hired as police officer

MATTAWA - Fernando Muñóz, a counter clerk at Mattawa City Hall has been hired conditionally as a police officer.

According to City Clerk Robin Newcomb, Muñóz will become a full-time officer after he returns from the police academy. He is waiting for an opening there.

Muñóz has cleared the background check and physical, psychological and polygraph exams. He will continue to work part-time at the city hall counter until he goes to the academy.
