Staples hosts Teacher Appreciation Day
Staples, the world's largest office products company and top retail destination for back to school, is hosting Teacher Appreciation Day at store locations across the country to make it easy to provide teachers the tools they need to be successful in the classroom.
Each year, more than 90 percent of teachers spend hundreds of dollars of their own money on classroom materials, according to the National Education Association.
The first 100 teachers visiting Staples stores on Teacher Appreciation Day, Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon will receive a reusable lunch bag filled with pens, eraser caps, note tabs, a one-subject notebook, glue sticks and sticky notes.
Teacher Appreciation Day will be at Staples in Coeur d'Alene, 206 Ironwood Drive, and in Ponderay, 260 Bonner Mall Way.
Avista dividend announced
Avista Corp.'s board of directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 28 cents per share on the company's common stock.
The common stock dividend is payable Sept. 15, to shareholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 25.
Storage facility grand opening planned
U-Haul will have a grand opening of its new storage facility, 750 W. Appleway Ave., at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 14.
It will offer climate-controlled, clean and secure storage as well as rental equipment and moving accessories.
"Our opportunity to add a state-of-the-art facility in Coeur d'Alene is a testament to the growth of this community and we are proud to extend our services to families in the area," wrote John Eide, marketing president.
New chiropractor at River City
Dr. Scott Elliott is a new chiropractor at River City Chiropractic.
He received his undergraduate degree from Life University and adjunctive license in physical therapy.
