Ann Marie Neuman, 99, longtime resident of North Idaho, passed away at her nephew's home in Apache Junction, Ariz., Friday, Aug. 12, 2011.
Ann was born in Coeur d'Alene on Aug. 13, 1911, to Thomas R. and Helen E. (Wendland) Gerdes. Ann married Frank H. Neuman on June 14, 1937, in Coeur d'Alene. They lived in Blanchard and Spirit Lake, but eventually Ann moved back to Coeur d'Alene in 1991, after Frank's passing the year before.
She worked for the Coeur d'Alene Press as the bookkeeper and office manager for 37 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hill of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and nephews: Anne Kindler of Coeur d'Alene, Patrick Hill of Apache Junction, Joanne Dunsmore of Spokane, Michael Gerdes of Prescott, Ariz., Susan Hanson of California and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Neuman in 1990.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, in Coeur d'Alene.
