MOSES LAKE - It is an irony that something such as a demolition derby would be held at a county fair.

But, despite the win at all costs good fun and humor of such an event there is plenty of honor to be had at the KWIQ Demo Derby tonight starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Grant County Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena.

First up will be the time trials which should take approximately 45 minutes.

Then the National Anthem will take place at a hoped for time at 7:15 p.m. as the Moses Lake Round Up festivities get into full swing with the mechanical smash and bang of the derby.

Some of the contests to be waged include, the best looking car contest along with competition amongst the six fastest cars from the time trials.

After that, the derby proceeds into heat races of eight cars each. followed by the Powder Puff racers.

After all heat races will come the Main Demo event.

Look for results from the races in an upcoming editon of the Columbia Basin Herald.
