Manuel Olvera, 82

Manuel "Manny" Olvera, 82, passed away at his home in Coeur d'Alene on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, surrounded by his loving family when he lost his battle with melanoma cancer.

Manny was born March 7, 1929, in Miami, Ariz., to Alfred Olvera and Hope Cuadras. He grew up in Pasadena, Calif., and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1955. He married Yvonne Beck on Dec. 19, 1954.

Manny enjoyed working hard and providing for his family. He was a successful small business owner for many years, and later became a real estate agent and broker. Upon retiring, he moved to Coeur d'Alene with his wife in 1996.

He is survived by his brother Reggie Terrazone of southern California, his wife Yvonne, their four children, Linda Fuqua, Diane Sprinkle, Susan Thorpe and Steven Olvera - all living in the Inland Northwest - 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

A family memorial was held Aug. 10 in celebration of Manny's life. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.

Manny's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all his doctors and Hospice of North Idaho for the wonderful care he received from them.
