Call for 9/11 accounts

In just over three weeks, our nation will recognize one of the most poignant, painful and powerful anniversaries in its history.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, The Press will focus on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our nation. Like every other newspaper in America, we'll share some of the tragic photos and heroic efforts from that fateful day, and we'll look again at how the world has changed in the wake of those attacks.

But we'd like to do more. We'd like to hear from you if you or someone in your family was involved in or directly impacted by the events that day.

Were you, like someone we know, at or near the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into it, killing 184 people?

Were you, like someone we know, stranded in New York City because of the assaults on the World Trade Center?

Were you, like someone we know, en route to the East Coast and your flight was diverted while chaos ruled the skies?

Did you, like someone we know, lose a loved one in the attacks or in the valiant rescue attempts that followed?

No living American was spared grief and pain that day. Nobody's life will ever be quite the same because of what happened on the other side of our great nation.
