SPOKANE VALLEY - The bikers are throwing a mighty big bash.
This weekend marks the opening of the new Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson megastore, and they're doing it in style. The public is welcome at 19011 E. Cataldo, Spokane Valley.
The bash begins with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. Friday with Spokane Valley Mayor Tom Towey, followed by a colorful flag-raising ceremony with participation from the American Legion,
Combat Vet riders and the Patriot Guard. Cake and coffee will be served.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Lone Wolf will host bike contests, a burnout contest, the Sammy Eubanks band, karaoke, pinstripers, tattoo artists and a barbecue by Greenbriar Catering.
Door prizes will be tossed off the roof.
"We throw a great party," said Beth Ernst, dealer principal at Lone Wolf. "There will be a lot to see. You can sit and chill, listen to great music and watch some fun events. All bikes are welcome."
On Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., the band, karaoke and door prizes continue, along with a grand prize giveaway of a full set of riding gear.
The 70,000-square-foot megastore is planned as a major regional destination for Harley riders.
The store will employ 52 people, and includes a large selection of motor wear and a lounge with a cafe and WiFi, pool table and foosball.
"Come join the fun, whether you have a bike or not," Ernst said. "It's a celebration, that's how we like to do things."
