Roland K. McNair 67, of Libby died Monday Aug. 8, 2011, at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital in Libby. 

He was born May 10, 1944, in Libby to Michael and Louise DeShazer McNair.  He grew up and attended schools in Libby.  He graduated from Libby High School in 1964 and then joined the U.S. Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic. 

Roland was married to Janie Shiflett on May 26, 1973, in Sheridan, Wyo., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 

He was a staff sergeant in the Army National Guard of Montana and worked at the mill until it shut down. 

Roland enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and hunting with his daughter.  He loved to talk with everyone and was always concerned about others health and happiness before his own. 

His wife Janie, mother Louise, and father Michael preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter Irma Sibert of Great Falls, Mont.; son-in-law John Sibert of Great Falls, Mont.; grandson Dalton Sibert of Great Falls, Mont.; sister May Baeth of Missoula, Mont.; sister Beth Alkire of Libby; and brother Michael McNair of Marysville, Wash.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday Aug. 19, 2011, with a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2056 US Hwy 2, in Libby. 

Local arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
