Seahawks perfect in senior softball league

The Columbia Falls Seahawks men's senior softball team recently capped off an undefeated season.

The team went 10-0 in league play and 3-0 in the year-end tournament Aug. 15, knocking off the Kalispell Wolverines 18-8 in the opener, the Kalispell Vultures 19-6 in the semifinals and then edging the Kalispell Osprey 13-12 in the championship game.

The team features Columbia Falls men ages 50-85 years old and is sponsored by Dick and Charlotte Sapa, owners of the Blue Moon Nite Club. The team is in its third year of senior league play.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
