OSBURN - Shortly before 7:30 on Tuesday morning, there was a fatal one-vehicle car wreck on Interstate 90, just after mile marker 57, that closed the Osburn exit for nearly four hours.
Marisa Aleman, 17, of Wallace, was driving eastbound on I-90 when she lost control of her red 1990 Toyota pickup truck and went caroming through the guardrail and into the ditch adjacent to the highway, the Idaho State Police reported. She was not wearing a seat belt.
"Aleman was eastbound on I-90 at milepost 56.8 when she failed to maintain her lane and drove off the roadway from the right shoulder," the Idaho State Police said in a statement. "The vehicle collided with a light pole and a guardrail. The vehicle overturned and the driver was partially ejected. No seat belt was worn."
The vehicle was removed from the ditch by a tow truck around 10:30 on Tuesday morning. Eastbound exit 57 on I-90 was closed for several hours, finally opening around 11:30 a.m.
