MOSES LAKE - The Rotary Club of Moses Lake donated 550 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Moses Lake School District Tuesday.

The backpacks were loaded into a school bus Tuesday and delivered to Larson Heights Elementary where they will be distributed to students that need them, said Rotary Club member David Thomas.

Thomas and Rotary Club members Bob Tatum and Julianne Dodds helped load backpacks into a school bus Tuesday morning. Bus driver Donna Massey also helped load the backpacks, and drove the bus to Larson Heights, where Principal Diana McFaul greeted them.

Employees of the Moses Lake Clinic, residents of Pioneer Village and businesses including Costco, Office Depot and Walmart, donated money or supplies for the project, said Thomas.
