Ruth "Dolores" Belt, 79, of Rathdrum, went home to rest on Aug. 24, 2011. She was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Torrance, Calif., to her parents John Sr. and Ruth Fortuny. Dolores was the oldest of two along with her brother John Jr. Fortuny.

Dolores is survived by her husband and best friend of 61 years, Bruce F. Belt. She is also survived by her son, Cory and his wife Gayle of Rathdrum; son Don and his wife Cynthia of Evergreen, Colo., and Renee of Coeur d'Alene. Dolores is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Hannah, Faith, Nick, Josh, Justin and one great-granddaughter.

A celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Mountain View Bible Church. Bell Tower Funeral Home, Post Falls, is in care of the arrangements.
