Drilling equipment hits the road tonight

An ExxonMobil equipment shipment is scheduled to leave the Port of Lewiston tonight en route to the Idaho/Montana state line, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The shipment will travel north on U.S. 95 to the Interstate 90 interchange in Coeur d'Alene, then east on I-90 to the Idaho-Montana border. The permit issued for the shipment requires it to travel between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
The shipment weighs 322,800 pounds, is 24 feet wide, 14.10 feet high and 193 feet long. Its average speed is expected to be 35 mph. Traffic delays will be limited to 15 minutes. Twenty-five locations have been identified to allow traffic to pass.
The transport is scheduled to take three nights to travel from the Port of Lewiston to Montana. The proposed schedule is:
* First night - Port of Lewiston through Moscow to the Latah/Benewah county line.
* Second night - Latah/Benewah county line to 15 miles east of Coeur d'Alene, stopping at milepost 33 in a pullout on the side of I-90.
* Third night - Milepost 33 to the Idaho/Montana state line.
Two Idaho State Police patrol vehicles and pilot vehicles will accompany the load.
