Sandra "Sandy" Kay Houston, 63, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at Hospice House of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene.

Sandy was born Feb. 29, 1948, to Harry and Lella Appleberg in Hamilton, Mont. In the late 1950s she moved to Coeur d'Alene. Sandy was a baker in the IGA grocery store until she retired in 2010. She married James Taylor on June 29, 2007, in Coeur d'Alene.

Sandy loved the great outdoors, camping and fishing. She also loved to cook; she made the best oven fried chicken you've ever tasted.

She loved her family and had many friends that will surely miss her smile and laughter.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Jim at home; daughter Toni Meyer of Coeur d'Alene; sisters, Patty Phillips and Elizabeth Appleberg; and mother Lella Appleberg.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Harry Appleberg.

No services will be held at this time. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
