The Columbia Falls boys soccer team lost its season opener to Stillwater Christian School 4-0 last Saturday, Aug. 27. Stillwater scored three goals in the first half and added an insurance goal in the second half for the victory.

"We started five kids that have never played a varsity game before," coach Wildcat coach Peter Browne said. "We didn't execute very well."

Browne also gave Stillwater credit.

"They're not a bad team," he said.

The Cats had a tough time spreading the field - they kept the ball in the middle too long, and Stillwater had a strong and quick midfield.

Browne said he thought senior defender Alex Vanhorn had a good game. The boys faced Bigfork on Tuesday after presstime. They play Livingston on Friday at 6 p.m. and Belgrade on Saturday at 11 a.m. Both games are at home.
