LAKE COUNTY - Three Lake County athletes were named to the Class B All-State football team for the 2011 football team. Seniors Jake Skelton and Jack Humphreys made the team for Ronan while Fabian Camacho made the All-state squad for Mission.

Humphreys was a shut-down cornerback for the Chiefs this season, while displaying some excellent open-field tackling skills as well. He led the team with three interceptions.

"It's something that I have dreamed for and worked for since my freshman year and I'm still kind of in shock about it," Humphreys said. "I did anything to help out the team. I wouldn't have been able to do some of the things I accomplished without my coaches and teammates."

Skelton was a bruising runner with blazing speed that led the team in rushing. He was the knockout punch that the Chiefs would thow at their opponent time and time again.

"It feels great, I worked hard all offseason and I am really happy to be recognized as all-state," Skelton said. "I'm glad my coaches gave me the chances and put me in positions to make plays for the team."

Skelton added that his favorite memory of the season was the comeback win against football powerhouse Baker in the second round of the playoffs. Humphreys enjoyed the travel.

"The best part of the season had to be traveling with my team and making the friends that are going to be with me for a long time," Humphreys said. "This is definitely going to be the best season to look back on."

Fabain Camacho was a dominant lineman for the Mission Bulldogs and could be seen wreaking havoc on the other team on both sides of the ball.

Ronan advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs this year and had 10 different players make the 6-B All-Conference team.

"This year's Chief team was absolutely amazing," Humphreys said. "Being a part of a semifinal team is something I am going to think about for the rest of my life."

Ronan finished with an 8-3 record and had their best season in two decades.

"The team was great. I loved playing with my team and the coaching staff was awesome," Skelton said. "I was definitely proud to be a Ronan Chief this year."

Mission had nine players make the 6-B all-conference team.

You’ll have to excuse me for stating the obvious, I’m assuming everyone in Polson already knows this but Neal Lewing is one heck of an actor. I was first able to see the Port Polson player as Judge Turpin in the production of Sweeney Todd last November.
