Battle of the Bands for Christ tonight

It's the Battle of the Bands for Christ from 6-9 tonight at the Kroc Center.

The event is billed as "an effort to bring musicians together, new and existing, and give them a format for expressing their love for Christ through music."

It is a fundraiser for Family Promise of North Idaho.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for Kids 6-12 years and children under 5 are free.

Tickets will be available at the door.

Ceremony honors those who have died

COEUR d'ALENE - Hospice of North Idaho's 30th annual tree lighting is scheduled 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls.

"This is an important event for our community," said Hospice of North Idaho Bereavement Counselor Pam Parsons. "The Tree Lighting creates on opportunity to take a few extra moments at this time of year for remembering and honoring our loved ones who have died."

The holiday tree will be adorned with paper dove ornaments on which the names of loved ones to be remembered are written.

There will also be music and prayer.

The public is welcome.

Anyone wishing to have their loved one's name on a dove ornament can call Hospice of North Idaho's main office at 772-7994.

There will be a reception after the tree lighting.
