Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 years, 1 month AGO
Nona E. Johnson passed away peacefully Nov. 28, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a very strong woman, proud to live life independently as long as she could. She was a fighter until the very end. She loved life and was a positive role model for all of us.
She grew up in Wallace and attended Lady of Lourdes Academy. She was a nurses aid at Providence Hospital in Wallace. She married Ted R. Johnson Jr. and they had three children. Mom stayed home most of our lives and then went to work at Peabody Spunstrand and became the office manager, she then moved on to become office administrator at the Shoshone Sheriff's office.
After retiring, she moved to Lewiston briefly and then moved back to Coeur d'Alene to be close to her family. She loved going to all her grandchildren's sports and activities, never missing many at all. One of her favorite activities was to go to all of the plays at North Idaho College and anything to do with music. She would always be there, she so enjoyed it.
She is survived by her son, Bill Johnson of Maine; daughter Connie (Randy) Kirk of Coeur d'Alene; three grandchildren: Michael of Maine, Chris (Amanda) Kirk and Casey Kirk of Coeur d'Alene; and three great-grandchildren: Kylin, Kamryn and Kagen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted R. Johnson Jr.; son Ron Johnson; parents Jake and Helen Schuler; sister Ruth Peterson and grandson Kyle Kirk.
