Patrick Michael Jones, 42, of Rathdrum, passed away unexpectedly in Lynnwood, Wash., on Oct. 19, 2011.

Patrick was born in Adelaide, Australia, on Sept. 14, 1969. He spent his childhood in Australia and then moved to the United States in 1993. He married Christina Louise Hobson on Dec. 17, 1994, in Olympia, Wash.

He was an accomplished auto technician and worked at several dealerships and auto shops in the local area over the years. Patrick was respected by his friends for his honest and trustworthy character and outgoing personality. He was admired for his willingness to help and teach others. He also loved the outdoors, shooting sports and Australian classic rock music. He loved traveling and learning about American history as well.

Patrick's surviving family members include his wife, Christina Jones of Rathdrum; his father, Kevin (Pam) Jones of Seattle; sister-in-law Shawna Hobson (Dion) of Lynnwood; his mother, Maureen Holdcroft; sister Linda (Tim) Smith; brothers Luke (Jodie) Holdcroft, Anthony (Tania) Jones and Christopher Jones, all of Australia.

He will be greatly missed by his family, three golden retrievers, friends who he considered family, as well as business associates.

Final arrangements were made by Evergreen Funeral Home, Everett, Wash. A memorial service for Patrick will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
