COEUR d'ALENE - Two men were stabbed when their home was invaded by burglars early Saturday, Coeur d'Alene police said.
The home-invasion robbery occurred on the 2400 block of Fairway Drive, in Coeur d'Alene. Lt. Jay Heintz told The Press that the home was entered through the unlocked front door.
The two alleged victims, both 20 years old, received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at Kootenai Medical Center.
As of Saturday afternoon, Heintz said one of the alleged victims was treated and released. The other had more serious wounds and stayed in the hospital longer. Heintz didn't know if that man had been released from the hospital.
Police first responded to the hospital at 2:45 a.m.
Coeur d'Alene police used information provided by the alleged victims to arrest two suspects, 21-year-old Jacob R. Selaci and 22-year-old Wesley D. Celestine, both of Coeur d'Alene.
Selaci and Celestine were booked into Kootenai County jail on suspicion of aggravated battery and robbery, police said.
They were arrested after police obtained a search warrant for an apartment on the 900 block of North Second Street.
From the alleged victims, police gathered physical descriptions of the suspects and information about the weapons used in the robbery.
With those details, investigators recognized Selaci and Celestine from an earlier run-in with law enforcement.
