WENATCHEE - The Columbia Basin Secondary boys basketball team took one on the chin Tuesday evening, losing a pre-season game on the road to Cascade Christian 83-45.

The Phoenix fell behind early, 23-8 after the first quarter of play and trailed 48-21 at the half. CBSS only managed to knock down 24 points in the second half, while the Wolverines hit for 36 to run away with the game.

"I'm proud of the way my team played," coach Rolland Hansen said. "They played hard to the end with very little experience and never gave up."

The Phoenix regular season gets under way when the team travels to Lake Roosevelt tonight to take on the Raiders.
