SPOKANE - Preston Wynne scored 26 points and fellow wing DeAngelo Jones added 22 as Community Colleges of Spokane beat North Idaho College 70-67 in the championship game of the Cardinal-Bigfoot Classic men's basketball tournament Sunday afternoon at Spokane Community College.

Wynne made 4 of 7 3-pointers for CCS (6-0), Jones 3 of 9.

"They just hit ridiculous shots down the stretch," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "We just couldn't stop them ... we were right in their face; fadeaway 3-pointers ... you just tip our hat to them."

NIC (9-1) trailed 20-9 early, but forged a 49-40 lead with 12 minutes left before Wynne and Jones took over. Phay said the Cardinals also were plagued by turnovers down the stretch.

Jordan McCloud had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Michael Middlebrooks had 11 points, 10 boards and three blocked shots for NIC, which plays at Columbia Basin on Wednesday night in Pasco, Wash.
