Vernon (Vern) L. Reisner, 72, of Post Falls, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Whittemore, Iowa, to Noah and Matilda Reisner.

Vern ran his own electric motor business in Estherville, Iowa, for nine years at which time he retired and moved to Idaho where he came out of retirement and worked as a rebuilder for 21 years, finally retiring in October 2010.

Vern is survived by his wife, Jennifer Reisner of Post Falls; his sister, Kate Johnson of Akron, Ohio; his sons, Tim Reisner of Golden Valley, Minn., Tom Reisner of Estherville, Iowa; and stepson Perri Reisner of Henderson, Nev.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814. Memorial contributions can be made to Christ The King Lutheran Church at the above address. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
