MOSES LAKE - A driver allegedly sped off after hitting a 23-year-old Moses Lake woman walking in a crosswalk.

The woman was reportedly walking south on Stratford Road Thursday at about 7:30 p.m. when she was struck by an SUV as she crossed Knolls Vista Drive, a witness told Moses Lake police.

She was apparently carried a short distance on the vehicle hood and fell to the ground as the suspect vehicle sped away west on Knolls Vista, the witness said.

The woman reportedly complained of pain to her left hip and was transported to Samaritan Hospital, were she was questioned by police and signed a medical release a short time later.

The vehicle was reportedly a dark-colored, late model Dodge SUV - possibly a Durango, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin.

Anyone with information on the suspect driver or suspect vehicle is asked to contact the Moses Lake Police Department at 509-764-3887 or 509-762-1160.
