Byron Hout

Boise State football

Hout, a senior linebacker from Lake City High, was named honorable mention on the all-Mountain West Conference team. Hout led the Broncos (11-1) in tackles with 65, forced two fumbles and had a blocked kick.

Dayna Drager

College of Idaho basketball

Drager, a sophomore from Coeur d'Alene High, scored 14 points for the Yotes in a 96-27 win against Walla Walla in the final game of the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Lady Yote Classic on Nov. 26 in Caldwell. Drager is averaging 6.9 points per game in 18.9 minutes for College of Idaho (6-4), an NAIA school in Caldwell.

Katie Baker

Montana basketball

Baker, a junior from Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy who played basketball for Lake City High, scored 12 points and had three blocked shots for the Grizzlies in a 61-60 win over Utah State on Wednesday at Dahlberg Arena. She also scored seven points and had six rebounds in a 53-52 loss at the University of Denver on Monday, dropping their record to 4-4.

Katelyn Loper

Hofstra basketball

Loper, a sophomore from Post Falls High, scored 17 points on Thursday for the Pride in a 94-74 win over Seton Hall in Hempstead, N.Y. She also scored 10 points in the second half in a 86-71 win over Georgia State on Sunday in Atlanta to improve to 5-1.

Fei Gao

Concordia volleyball

Gao, a junior from Qingdao, China, and NIC, was named to the NAIA All-American second team after the Eagles finished second in the NAIA tournament over the weekend to finish with a 37-2 record.

Ameer Shamsud-din

Academy of Art basketball

Shamsud-din, a junior formerly of North Idaho College, scored 16 points for the Knights in an 85-55 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs last Wednesday. Shamsud-din also scored 20 points for the Knights in a 72-67 loss to Menlo College in San Francisco to fall to 0-8.

Aaron Corsi

Concordia (Ore.) basketball

Corsi, a junior formerly of St. Maries High and Walla Walla Community College, is averaging seven points a game and three rebounds in 12.6 minutes over five games for the Cavaliers (5-4), an NAIA team based out of Portland.

Taryne Ela

Carroll soccer

Ela, a senior from Coeur d'Alene High, was named to the NAIA 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes list. To be eligible, students are nominated by their head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have received a junior academic status in order to qualify.
