Lake City can't catch Clarkston
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 14 years AGO
COEUR d'ALENE - Lake City fell behind by seven points after one quarter and could never catch up in a 59-51 loss to the Clarkston Bantams in nonleague play Tuesday night.
Kage Sabotta scored a game-high 16 points for Clarkston (2-0).
"It was a complete collapse on all fronts," Lake City assistant coach Kelly Reed said. "We weren't ready to play, we didn't execute any sets, we didn't communicate defensively. We were completely outplayed, totally outworked (by Clarkston) ... to come out with that kind of effort is very disappointing."
Kyle Guice had 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots for Lake City (3-2), which has dropped two straight. Mitch Bevacqua led the Timberwolves with 15 points, and Justin Pratt had 12 points and five rebounds.
Lake City committed 20 turnovers.
