Patrick Brian McCumber passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 1, 2011, of natural causes. He was born April 28, 1949, in Seattle, Wash., to Jerry and Freda McCumber.

He was preceeded in death by his father, Jerry and his son, Richard.

He is survived by his mother, Freda; his sisters, Jeri and Dale; his wife, Astrid; his children, Angie, Michelle and Kristie; his step-children, Justin, Stefanie and Keshia; and nine grandchildren.

During his lifetime, he lived in Seattle, Lewiston and the Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene area. He graduated from Post Falls High School in 1967. He was a self-taught drummer and gifted singer in Country-Rock style music. Throughout his life, he was in two bands, Southern Comfort and Fastdraw. He played at various venues throughout the Northwest Region.

In recent years, his passion for sales in recreational vehicles allowed him to follow the sun, which he loved, to Yuma, Ariz., during the winter months and return home during the summer to be with family and friends. In his free time he was either found around the fire pit, fishing or camping all the while enjoying his love of music.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls. A Celebration of Life party will follow in Coeur d'Alene.

An online memorial has been created: http://pat-mccumber.last-memories.com. The family strongly encourages people to visit the website to pay respects, share memories, pictures, videos, etc. Donations can be made on this site as well.
