COEUR d'ALENE - A.J. Conda (113), Hudson Staub (138) and Sean White (152) each had two pins on the night for Coeur d'Alene and the two-time defending state 5A champion Vikings opened the season with a pair of wins over Priest River and Lakeside on Wednesday.

"It was good to see where we are at and what we need to improve on," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. "We are a young team, but we have a lot of time between now and the state tournament in February."

Coeur d'Alene will compete Friday and Saturday at the Inland Empire Classic at Central Valley High in Spokane.

COEUR d'ALENE - Nick Wells (132 pounds), Jared Lambert (145) earn two pins apiece for the Timberwolves in a 49-28 win over Lakeside (Wash.) and 52-24 win over Priest River in their season opening duals at Elmer Jordan Court.

"I thought we wrestled well tonight," Lake City coach Corey Owen said. "Those were two really good opponents and our guys wrestled hard in each match and it really paid off for us tonight."

Lake City travels to the St. Maries Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

POST FALLS - Post Falls had eight pins in their dual with Chewelah and had decision wins by Tyler Booth (152 pounds), Nathan McLeod (170) in a dual sweep at The Arena.

"It was a good one for us right out of the gate," Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. "A lot of our guys got pins and they seemed ready to compete after three weeks of practice."

Booth, McLeod, Peter Berger (120) and Cole Jesienouski (182) had pins for Post Falls against Riverside.

Post Falls hosts Lakeland and Cheney tonight.
