BLM: Veterans say thank you

The veterans from the Coeur d'Alene area want to say thank you to the Bureau of Land Management for hosting and paying for the two cruise's to see the Bald Eagles in Wolf Lodge Bay on Nov. 27.

Beth Paragamian, the Wildlife Education Specialist, was our host and told us the stories of the Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle and the Osprey.

She said that there are 59 different species of eagles in the world and only two species in North America, the Bald Eagle and the Golden eagle.

We saw about 20 Bald Eagles on each of the two trips

The Patriot Guard Riders from our area were on board, in our honor, to show the Stars and Stripes, and flags representing the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard and for the POW's and the MIA's. Thank you.

Each branch of the military members were asked to stand and they were recognized for their service to our country.

Three hundred veterans and their families were on board at no cost, thanks to the Bureau of Land Management.
