MOSES LAKE - Police found three subjects allegedly engaged in illegal activity while attempting to locate a wanted man.

Moses Lake Police and Grant County sheriff's deputies reportedly went to a home on South Grand Drive Friday at about 5:30 p.m. while searching for James Rivera, 30, Moses Lake, who was wanted on an unspecified Douglas County warrant.

When officers knocked on the door, occupants "began to scramble and crawl on the floor," according to a Moses Lake Police report.

"Officers observed through a space in the blinds of a window a female subject removing what appeared to be large quantities of narcotics from a dresser drawer as well as arming herself with a long rifle," the report stated.

A short standoff ensued involving six law enforcement personnel and three subjects inside the home, according to Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin, who added no tactical team members were involved.

After the subjects exited the house, police reportedly found two firearms, a "small amount" of cocaine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia inside, Ruffin said. 

Guadalupe R. Sanchez, 26, Moses Lake, was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and police reportedly anticipate charges of obstructing and escaping community custody.

Amanda Lopez, 20, Moses Lake, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and police reportedly anticipate charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of unlabeled prescription medication and obstructing justice.

Police reportedly anticipate Minerva Valle, 32, Moses Lake, will be charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, obstructing, two counts of rendering criminal assistance, tampering with evidence and manufacturing marijuana.

Rivera was not at the address, but about an hour later he reportedly came to the Moses Lake Police Department "not knowing he had warrants" and was booked into Grant County Jail without incident.
